My philosophy in design is simplicity. Keep things clean. So, when planning the flowers for our wedding in Santa Barbara in 2000, I knew the answer to fulfill a small budget would be so keep things paired down. I didn't really have a theme, be it colors or flowers, and just chose what I liked. A few of the pieces we had a professional help us with: the cake was topped with roses, the bridal bouquet, flower girl buckets and corsages by Tricia Stock. But the rest we did ourselves. My oldest friend, Laura had the talent to help us with the centerpieces and bridesmaids bouquets. So, the girls and I went to the farmer's market, bought $200 worth of flowers that we liked, placed them in antique medicine bottles, and grouped them for centerpieces. I loved how everything turned out. this grainy picture from Elizabeth is one of my favorites.
