Not to make the health and happiness of my family sound trite, because I'm extremely thankful for that, but I'm talking thanksgiving meal here- and the best part of the meal to me is - Pie. Apple Pie. Here's the recipe I make every year.
Perfect Apple Pie 6 or 7 tart granny smith apples 1 cup sugar 2 T flour 1 t cinnamon dash nutmeg dash salt 2 T butter pastry dough or premade pie dough Peel and slice apples thinly. Combine sugar, flour and spices and mix with apples in large bowl. Adjust the pie crust in glass pie dish. Fill with apples, and dot with butter. Adjust top crest. Sprinkle with sugar for sparkle. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes. Great gift idea for the host or foodie- tie your favorite recipe to a stack of personalized linen napkins.
