My heart swells with anticipation this time of year. Just thinking about Thanksgiving, how our family and friends get together to create food, share wine and laughs. It's my favorite holiday, and it gets me thinking about how my meetings go with my custom clients. I'm a good listener, and my job is to really hear the stories my clients tell me, to draw out their desires for their wedding communication: not just the invitations, but sometimes the entire feel of the wedding, from the engagement, to the save the date, to their website, to the program and thank you notes. Custom consultations can start out slow if they are a little shy, but once couples feel a little more comfortable with the thought of sharing details of their lives with me, we start to get somewhere- maybe it's their heritage they want to communicate, or they want me to create a custom crest or logo that fully represents them. They may want their pets somehow represented, or there is a symbol that reminds them of them. A key, to Laura and Paul, meant that they not only unlocked each other's hearts, but it symbolized their future home together, and what they would fill it with: laughter, children, love and family. And many Thanksgivings.
what's meaningful to you?
