I don't know why I love lavender so much. Maybe it's because I grew up in California, where it grows quite freely and abundantly. Or, the noxious scent, that's so calming and serene. Or photos of fields of lavender, which are so striking in their simplicity. Whatever the reason, I've always been drawn to this fragrant bloom, in oil and flower form, and used it at our wedding, tucked into my wedding invitations and napkins at the reception.
I heard from a friend that lavender meant something not so positive, but after scouring the internet, only found that it meant devotion, so I'm sticking with that!
