Working with Donna and Alan was such a dream come true! Carolyn from C Fine Events is a person with so much heart, and she and I finally got to work together with Donna, dreaming up all the details that made their wedding paper represent their historic and classic event at University of Chicago with personal touches to make this classic wedding anything but boring! From their hand painted toile, representing their dog, Austin, and the other interests, events, and loves in their lives, we created custom watercolor paintings to create a green toile pattern that we used for the save the date and invitation liner, combined with classic gold foil printing, letterpress details, deep green paper, custom printed silk ribbon, custom calligraphy, and even a soft pink bridal brunch invite, hosted by the bride's sister.
The historic nature of the event space really leant itself to the classic and personal design created by Carolyn and EV Design Collective. Dark Walnut panelling, stone mantle, and historic artwork was the perfect backdrop to their floral design, perfectly captured by Emilia Jane.
We used fun details from the toile in the cocktail hour, like their custom drink stirrers with their dog, and giraffe cocktail napkins, while the ceremony and dinner kept the vibe classic and elegant with custom calligraphed menus at each setting and letterpress printed programs.
