Chaparral // 2025

S/S ’25 Lookbook

CHAPARRAL
A semi-arid, woody shrubland plant biome found primarily in California, Southern Europe, and Northern Baja California. Chaparral plants aren’t known for their conventional beauty, but their adaptability and ability to prevent erosion. Their moisture-trapping waxy leaves contribute to the uniquely Mediterranean climate of dry, arid summers, and mild, wet winters, marked by high intensity, infrequent fires.

AMAPOLA
Marking the duality of home, that poppies can dot the California hills with their fanciful papery petals, but they can also grow in a Midwest summer.

To grow up in Santa Barbara was a privilege. A small coastal town in central California flanked by the mountains and the sea; idyllic, often boasting 70 degree winter days and mild summers. It’s coined the America Riviera for its Mediterranean weather, topography, views, and beauty. The chaparral is a place of abundance and availability, where you can always be outside. Year round bounty; won’t there always be avocados in January? The blend of sage, rosemary, and eucalyptus is ever-present with the scent of lavender and citrus. Where the dry summers make way to wet verdant winters, cool with sea spray. When I’m in the landscape of my childhood I feel most at home. Everything to do here is marked by the experience of being outdoors, whether you’re exercising, socializing, or even working, the air forgiving. This environment is part of me; something I’ll always treasure and respect, this particular landscape that feels like home. The elements of earth, sky, water, and the threat of fire, imbued into everyday living.
Our inaugural home collection, from my home to yours: Chaparral.
