Your Creative Retreat Questions, Answered!

September 11, 2019 | 0 comments

I'm truly excited about the content I've been working on to make this January's retreat in Sayulita, Mexico a truly special experience for you to connect to your creativity. We will be working on a beautiful project a little each day that you will take home to remind you of your journey, yoga everyday, free time to rest and restore, swim and explore, and amazing meals that will restore you from the inside too!

I know it's a big thing, to commit to a retreat. It's time, money and trust, that you will be taken care of, you will get what you need out of the trip. I get that. It's hard to get away, especially if you have people you are responsible for. I can really appreciate that. Because of that, I am taking care to make this such a transformative experience for you, consulting with experts, hired a creative coach to ensure the content is incredibility thought through and relevant, and of course, partnered with Sam Bianchini, who's yoga is highly intuitive and transforming.

I do need my numbers to be finalized soon, though, so I decided to close registration on October 10th. That will be the last day to sign up! If you sign up by this Friday, September 13th, I have a really amazing welcome gift for you that will get you excited for Mexico in January!

I wanted to answer some questions and concerns that have come up. Please let me know if you have any further questions! See you in Sayulita!

You said this was an unplugged retreat. Is there really no Electricity? I'm not comfortable being disconnected from my kids for that long, or not able to be reached in case of an emergency.

To be clear, there is no electricity in your cabana, and you will have lanterns and flashlights for night visibility, and no hairdryer, but there are charging stations for your phone and devices in the dining room, and cell serviceat the top of the property. If you need wifi, there are internet cafes you can hop in a 5 minute cab ride to Sayulita to access! I plan to charge my phone during the day, and then use the flashlight function to find my way back to my cabana at night, and download music and podcasts in case of emergency. :) Sorry about your hair though.

Why Mexico? Is is safe? Can you drink the water?

I find Mexico to be one of the friendliest countries in the world. Whenever I visit any latin american country, I'm blown away by the kindness and generosity of the people I meet. The warmth and vibrancy of the art, people, and culture is rich and full of history. There have been a few warnings about different areas of Mexico in the news lately, but the area of Sayulita, Mexico is incredibly safe. Currently the US state department has no restrictions for the area we are traveling to; the following is from their website:

There are no restrictions on travel for U.S government employees to: Riviera Nayarit (including Nuevo Vallarta and Bahia de Banderas) and Santa Maria del Oro.

The water is not safe to drink. There is filtered water provided in the bathrooms for teeth brushing, to drink and the ice is also filtered at Haramara. They are an award winning retreat center. Read their reviews!
What kind of yoga will we be doing? The retreat description says restorative. Is it all restorative yoga?

The retreat is restorative. The yoga will vary depending on the theme of the day. Each day we will be exploring themes related to creativity: Grounding, Releasing, Awakening, for example. The yoga will match that day, from Vinyasa flow, to Kundalini, to Yin, and yes, Restorative. But you will get your body moving, don't worry.
A week seems like a long time. Are you offering any shorter retreats coming up?

Our retreat is 6 nights, from Saturday, January 11th arrival anytime between 1 and 5pm, and departing Friday, January 17th after morning yoga and breakfast. I understand that it seems like a long time, especially if you have little ones. But what I've found from attending retreats in the past, is that you really do need some time to get into it. A couple days just to drop in, to be present. It really does fly by and you'll wish you were there longer! At this time we have no other retreats planned.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Registrations closes soon! Secure your spot here.
