You guys know me, Sarah, the founder of Sarah Drake Design. I started this business in 2005 and it has grown from a small desktop in my dining room to a whole 600 square foot studio in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. When I'm not laying in the grass, gazing at invitations, I'm meeting with brides, grooms and mothers of brides in our sunny studio. That what really fuels the design side of the studio. The majority of the work we produce is custom invitation design, and I love listening to the stories from all of our clients; how they met, what their sense of style is, and how they've designed their weddings. That's the best part of my job - to figure our the way the invitations and other paper and design elements coordinate and enhance the overall design of their special day.
We've provided some non-invitation pieces of the wedding as well. One client asked us to design their wedding website to coordinate with their invitation suite, and another had us make a custom guest book by hand. Some fun updates: We're working on a paper garland for an upcoming photo shoot, paper flowers for boutineers, and embroidered save the dates!
Margie, on the left, the co-owner, came on almost two years ago. She handles some of the more business side of things, but is also an amazing designer- the best of both worlds. You can find her walking her dog, Cassady in her Logan Square neighborhood when she's not designing, coordinating the monogram collection, or keeping this place running smoothly. Sam, above right, is our beloved PR and marketing coordinator. She's studying journalism at Ohio University and we work with her virtually, now that her summer internship is over. She oversees our media relations and social networking, but the best thing about her is her awesome personality and enthusiastic, can-do attitude - we love you, Sam! We hope you enjoy this blog and our site, and please let us know what would make it better or what you'd love to see from us - we always want to improve, and count on the feedback from you!
I enjoy this blog tremendously. You are both very talented and lovely women. Creative site and wonderful blog.
